St. Louis Blues forward Pavel Buchnevich left Saturday night’s 2-1 shootout victory over Seattle with an upper-body injury after taking a big hit from Kraken defenseman Jamie Oleksiak in the first period.

Blues coach Craig Berube said the injury isn’t concussion-related but was otherwise tight with details.

“I don’t know what the significance of it is right now,” Berube said afterward. “It’s unfortunate.”

Buchnevich, 28, logged just seven shifts and 5:27 of ice time before leaving.

Oleksiak was not penalized for the hit.

Buchnevich, beginning his third season in St. Louis, posted 67 points (26 goals, 41 assists) last season for the Blues.
