Dustin Wolf made 38 saves as the Calgary Flames ended the host Winnipeg Jets’ five-game point streak with a 3-1 win on Saturday night.

Blake Coleman had a goal and two assists for Calgary, and Matt Coronato and Andrei Kuzmenko also scored.

Adam Lowry was the only Jets player to find the back of the net, and Eric Comrie stopped 19 shots.

It marked Comrie’s eighth straight start without a win. During this stretch, the Jets have been limited to just 12 goals, averaging a mere 1.5 goals per game.

While the Jets controlled much of the play in the initial stanza, the Flames struck first. Coleman intercepted a turnover along the boards and quickly found Coronato in the high slot. Coronato then fired a shot off the crossbar and into the net at 13:32 of the opening period.

Winnipeg led the shot count 12-6 after the first 20 minutes, which featured a relentless pace, including a stretch of 8:28 without a whistle.

Calgary extended their lead with 4:46 remaining in the second period. On the power play, Kuzmenko unleashed a rising wrist shot into the net. It snapped a 28-game goalless drought by Kuzmenko.

Just 2:15 into the third period, Winnipeg finally broke through. Off the ensuing faceoff, Lowry tipped a puck in front that bounced past Wolf, bringing the Jets to within one.

Calgary thought it rebuilt its two-goal lead off a shot by Coleman at the 13:46 mark of the third, but the goal was waved off after the puck deflected off both posts and stayed out.

Coleman scored later, however, finding an empty net to make it 3-1 with 1:05 remaining.

The Flames’ Rasmus Andersson played in his 500th career NHL game.
