Colorado Avalanche forward Logan O’Connor will undergo season-ending hip surgery later this week, coach Jared Bednar told reporters on Sunday.

Bednar could not say whether O’Connor will be recovered by the start of training camp for the 2024-25 season.

“Just depends on what they go in and find and what they end up doing,” Bednar said.

O’Connor had 13 goals and 12 assists in 57 games this season. He missed Colorado’s last two games.

O’Connor, 27, has 35 goals and 47 assists in 263 NHL games over parts of six seasons with the Avalanche.

Bednar also said that forward Zach Parise is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

The coach added that captain Gabriel Landeskog won’t return during the regular season. He underwent major knee surgery in May and will miss his second consecutive regular season. Bednar said Landeskog might be able to return at some point in the postseason.
