Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones is not expected to miss any games after injuring his hip in Sunday’s 23-17 win over the New York Jets in London, NBC Sports reported.

Jones left Sunday’s contest in the first half and was initially ruled questionable to return but never did. Minnesota coach Kevin O’Connell said after the game that Jones will be evaluated in the coming days.

The Vikings (5-0) have a bye next week before they host the NFC North rival Detroit Lions (3-1) in Week 7.

“I’m keeping my fingers crossed that (Jones’ injury) hopefully will be short-term,” O’Connell told the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Jones had gained 29 yards on seven carries and made one catch for 24 yards before exiting against the Jets. He also left the Vikings’ Week 2 win against the San Francisco 49ers because of a hip injury.

The 29-year old has amassed 517 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in his first year with Minnesota.

Jones spent his first seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers and made his lone Pro Bowl in 2020. He totaled 8,016 yards from scrimmage with 63 touchdowns (45 rushing, 18 receiving) over 97 games (85 starts) for Green Bay.

With Jones out during the second half, the Vikings gained just 98 yards and scored six points but prevailed to secure their first 5-0 start since 2016.
