Receiver Tyler Lockett explained why he agreed to a revised two-year deal with the Seahawks: “Seattle is home.”

Lockett, 31, is heading into his 10th season with the franchise that drafted him in the third round in 2015.

His revised contract converted $4 million in salary to incentives and a signing bonus, shaving $8 million off his cap number for 2024, according to reports.

“Seattle is home,” Lockett said Wednesday, per the Seattle Times. “Obviously it’s a business and so you’ve got to kind of look and see what is good for them, you see what’s good for yourself, as well. And with everything that I had a chance to be able to do and become, it’s really cool that you hear that the staff wants you to be on the team, as well.

“… (I) try not to get too much into the contract because I’m still kind of in a blessed situation. So everybody kind of talks about the contract or talks about the money or says it’s a pay cut or whatever it is, but it’s enough for us to still be here. It’s enough for them to still want me.”

Lockett started all 17 games in 2023 and finished with 79 catches for 894 yards and five touchdowns, ending his streak of four straight 1,000-yard campaigns.

He enters 2024 ranked No. 2 in Seahawks history in career receptions (612), receiving yards (7,994) and touchdown catches (59), trailing Hall of Famer Steve Largent in all three categories.
