Houston Texans rookie tight end Cade Stover will miss Sunday’s game against the visiting Miami Dolphins following an emergency appendectomy, the team announced.

Stover had been listed on the Week 15 injury report as questionable due to an illness.

The procedure was performed Saturday night.

“He is doing well today and expected to make a full recovery, the Texans said in a statement.

Stover, 24, was selected by the Texans in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. In 13 games (eight starts), Stover has 14 receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown.

He also has played 57 percent of the Texans’ snaps on special teams.
