Seattle safety Jamal Adams, making his season debut, lasted just nine plays before leaving the Seahawks’ 24-3 victory over the New York Giants on Monday in East Rutherford, N.J., with a concussion.

Adams was kneed in the head by Giants quarterback Daniel Jones while trying to make a tackle with 9:42 left in the first quarter.

Adams, 27, appeared wobbly when getting up and was taken to the medical tent on the Seahawks’ sideline. After a few minutes, Adams was taken to the locker room and ruled out for the rest of the game.

Adams was playing in his first game since tearing his quadriceps in the 2022 season opener.

Seattle still managed to put together a magnificent defensive performance despite the absence of Adams, as the Seahawks held New York to 248 yards of total offense while matching a franchise record with 11 sacks.
