Indianapolis Colts tight end Jelani Woods had surgery Friday for a turf toe injury and will be sidelined for about four months, multiple outlets reported.

Woods, 25, was a third-round pick in 2022 but missed the entire 2023 season due to hamstring injuries.

He sustained the latest injury in a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 17.

Woods caught 25 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games (two starts) as a rookie in 2022, playing 33 percent of the Colts’ offensive snaps.

Indianapolis has six other tight ends on the roster, including Mo Alie-Cox, Eric Tomlinson, Kylen Granson, Drew Ogletree, Will Mallory and Jordan Murray.
