Chris Kiffin had a change of heart about working at Ole Miss, where his brother Lane Kiffin is the head coach, and has returned to the Cleveland Browns, multiple reports said Thursday.

Chris Kiffin joined Ole Miss in January to be the program’s co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. After a month, he has decided the college game wasn’t for him, according to reports, preferring the NFL schedule over college.

Kiffin was the Browns’ defensive line coach and will return to the same capacity, which had not been filled.

The 40-year-old Kiffin is six years younger than Lane, and worked for his brother at USC (2010) and Florida Atlantic (2017). He was a “pass rush specialist” on the San Francisco 49ers’ staff for two years before joining the Browns in 2020.
