Arizona Cardinals starting safety Jalen Thompson was added to the injury report Saturday with a back issue and is questionable to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, according to multiple media reports.
Thompson was not on the team’s injury reports this week. He did not play when the Cardinals (2-9) lost to the Rams (4-6) on Oct.15 because of a hamstring injury.
Thompson, 25, has started and played in nine games, totaling 48 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, four passes defended and one forced fumble.
The Cardinals selected him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Supplemental Draft out of Washington State. Thompson has 355 tackles, seven interceptions and 23 passes defended in 63 games (51 starts).
Arizona listed Andre Chachere as his replacement, with another reserve safety, Joey Blount, listed as questionable for the game with a knee issue. Blount did not practice Wednesday and was a limited participant on Thursday and Friday.
