Alabama cornerback and projected first-round draft pick Kool-Aid McKinstry has a Jones fracture in his right foot, ESPN reported Friday.

The injury reportedly was discovered by physicians during his medical evaluations this week at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

McKinstry, 21, will have surgery after working out at Alabama’s pro day later this month and should be ready in time for training camp, per the report.

As a junior in 2023, McKinstry recorded 32 tackles and seven passes defensed. He earned All-America honors and was an All-SEC first-team selection for the second straight season.

McKinstry collected two interceptions, 23 passes defensed and 93 tackles in 62 games (31 starts) in three seasons with the Crimson Tide.
