The San Francisco 49ers are working out veteran cornerback Anthony Averett on Monday, NFL Network reported.
Averett, who turns 29 on Thursday, played for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 after four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He spent time with the 49ers in the preseason before joining the Detroit Lions’ practice squad.
Baltimore’s 2018 fourth-round draft pick has 114 tackles, 23 passes defensed and three interceptions in 51 games (27 starts).
The 49ers (8-3) have been dealing with injuries in the secondary to cornerbacks Samuel Womack (knee) and Shemar Jean-Charles (shoulder) and safety Talanoa Hufanga (torn ACL, out for season).
