Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Malik Hamm will miss the 2024 season after tearing an ACL at practice, coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday.

The Ravens had placed Hamm, a 23-year-old Baltimore native, on injured reserve on Tuesday.

Hamm made the 2023 roster as an undrafted free agent out of Lafayette but injured his ankle in the preseason and spent the year on IR.

“Malik was doing so well, local guy, really, had the injury last year,” Harbaugh said Wednesday. “It’s so amazing cause, you go back and watch the tape up until when the injury happened, he was having a great practice. He had numerous run stops. He had a sack. And then just a freaky little thing where he kinda put his foot in the ground and got pushed a little bit right at that moment, and sometimes that’s what happens with the ACL.

“So, he has a clean ACL tear, so it does mean he’s out for the season. But it also means it bodes well for a very good recovery.”

Harbaugh said Hamm was in good spirits, but he is certain that Hamm is disappointed.

“He was going to play for us this year,” Harbaugh said. “His time will be coming.”

Harbaugh also said that cornerback Trayvon Mullen will miss a few weeks because of a shoulder injury. Mullen, 26, did not appear in a game in 2023 after spending time on Baltimore’s non-football injury list.

Mullen has played in 46 career games (31 starts) across four seasons with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders (2019-21), Arizona Cardinals (2022) and Dallas Cowboys (2022). He has 150 tackles, four interceptions and 29 passes defensed.
