Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was back at practice on Thursday and head coach Josh McDaniels said he’s “hopeful” to have his starter available Monday at Detroit.

Garoppolo injured his back in a 21-17 win over the New England Patriots on Oct. 15 and was ruled out last week in Chicago. The Raiders (3-4) lost to the Bears, 30-12, and face the NFC North-leading Lions on “Monday Night Football.”

Garoppolo has seven touchdowns, eight interceptions and completed 68 percent of his passes in six games since signing with Las Vegas in free agency.

“As long as nothing goes the other way,” McDaniels said when asked to clarify Garoppolo’s status.

Brian Hoyer started in Week 7 and was replaced by Aidan O’Connell in the second half. The Raiders gained a season-low 235 yards on 60 plays, scoring nine of their 12 points against the Bears in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach.
