Detroit Lions punter Jack Fox signed a three-year contract extension on Saturday.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team, however multiple media outlets reported Fox would receive an annual salary of $3.775 million — an NFL high for his position — with $7.5 million in guaranteed money.

Fox’s initial contract was set to expire after 2022.

“Jack has earned everything he has accomplished in his young career, and he sets a great example for his teammates with his professionalism and work ethic,” Lions general manager Brad Holmes said. “We are thrilled to have him as a leader on our team for years to come.”

Fox, 26, set franchise records in gross average (49.1 yards) and net average (44.8) en route to being named to the Pro Bowl in 2020. He also was named Second Team All-Pro during that season.

Fox is averaging 48.8 yards per punt (net 43.5) in five games this season.
