The Detroit Lions officially ruled out running back David Montgomery for Monday night’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders with his rib injury.

The move was expected, making it the second consecutive game missed for Montgomery. With a bye next week, the Lions are hoping to have him back for Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Montgomery was injured in the team’s Week 6 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, leaving the game.

The Lions mustered just 84 yards rushing as a team in last week’s loss to Baltimore. Jahmyr Gibbs and Craig Reynolds are expected to get the bulk of the rushes against the Raiders.

Montgomery, 26, has rushed for 385 yards and six touchdowns in five starts this season. He has added six catches for 66 yards.
