NFL: Lions RB David Montgomery injures knee vs. Vikings

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery is questionable to return after injuring his knee during the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis.

Montgomery was injured after taking a handoff and running into a pile of blockers and defenders. He appeared to favor his left leg as medical staff helped him walk to the sidelines.

Entering Sunday, Montgomery had 75 carries for 351 yards and six touchdowns in five games. He had two carries for three yards and two receptions for 25 yards versus the Vikings before he left with an injury.
