NFL: Lions place Pro Bowl C Frank Ragnow (toe) on IR

The Detroit Lions placed Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow on injured reserve Wednesday.

Ragnow, who is nursing an ailing toe, will miss at least the next three games for the winless Lions (0-4). He sustained the injury during the first half of Detroit’s 24-14 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday and joins star left tackle Taylor Decker (left index finger) on injured reserve.

Ragnow, 25, became the NFL’s highest-paid center in May after signing a four-year contract extension worth $13.5 million per season.

Ragnow has started 49 games since being selected by the Lions with the 20th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. A Pro Bowl selection in 2020, Ragnow missed two games last season with a fractured throat.

Also on Wednesday, Detroit activated kicker Austin Seibert from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Seibert has missed the team’s past two games.

The Lions also signed linebacker Jessie Lemonier to the active roster from the practice squad.
