NFL: Jets sign edge rusher Takkarist McKinley after tryout

The New York Jets announced the signing of free agent edge rusher Takkarist McKinley on Thursday.

The former first-round draft pick attended the team’s minicamp this week on a tryout basis. Terms were not disclosed.

McKinley, 28, last played a game in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams during the 2022 season.

He played his first four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons after being picked 26th overall in the 2017 draft.

McKinley has 20 sacks and 53 quarterback hits in 64 games (27 starts) with the Falcons (2017-20), Cleveland Browns (2021) and Rams (2022).
