The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Elliott Fry to a contract on Friday and waived fellow kicker Andrew Mevis.

Fry, 27, appeared in three games with three different teams (Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs) over the past two seasons.

For his NFL career, Fry has made five of six field-goal attempts (with a long of 44 yards) and five of seven extra points.

Third-year veteran Ryan Santoso and Mevis had been competing for the No. 1 kicker job throughout the offseason.

The undrafted Mevis, however, missed three field-goal attempts during warmups. One of those kicks reportedly hit former Dallas Cowboys head coach Dave Campo, who works for a local sports talk radio station.
