Jacksonville Jaguars starting linebacker Devin Lloyd underwent thumb surgery Wednesday and will miss the team’s two-game set in London, beginning Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
Lloyd was injured in last Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans, Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said.
Pederson added that wide receiver Zay Jones (knee) is not likely to play in Sunday’s game but will make the trip; he could return for Jacksonville’s second game in London on Oct. 8 against the Buffalo Bills.
Lloyd, 24, has 19 tackles and a fumble recovery in three games (all starts) this season. He had 115 tackles and three interceptions in 17 games (15 starts) as a rookie last season. The Jaguars selected him No. 27 overall in the 2022 draft.
Jones, 28, sat out against the Texans after sustaining a knee injury in the Jags’ Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He has five catches for 55 yards and a touchdown in two starts this season, his second in Jacksonville.
The Jaguars play the Falcons at Wembley Stadium on Sunday and the Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Oct. 8.
