NFL: Giants re-sign LB Isaiah Simmons

The New York Giants are bringing back linebacker Isaiah Simmons, a former first-round pick who was brought over in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals before last season.

Simmons, who was an unrestricted free agent, agreed with the team on a one-year deal, according to ESPN.

Acquired for a seventh-round pick from Arizona, Simmons played in all 17 games (four starts) last season for the Giants, contributing 50 tackles, one interception and a sack.

Simmons, who turns 26 in July, played safety as well as linebacker with the Cardinals, who drafted him eighth overall out of Clemson in 2020.

He returned an interception 56 yards for a touchdown with Arizona in 2022, and took his lone pick last season all the way for a 54-yard TD return.
