The Atlanta Falcons moved on from Casey Hayward after one season, releasing the veteran cornerback on Friday with a failed physical designation.
Hayward started six games for the Falcons in 2023 before suffering a shoulder injury in Week 6 that required season-ending surgery.
Hayward, 33, had one more season left on his deal. But Atlanta signed Mike Hughes and traded for former third overall draft pick Jeff Okudah over the offseason to reshape the cornerback position.
In 11 NFL seasons with the Green Bay Packers (2012-15), San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers (2016-20), Las Vegas Raiders (2021) and Falcons, Hayward has recorded 448 tackles, 25 interceptions and four fumble recoveries. He was a two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro second-team selection in 2016 and 2017.
