First-round pick Jahan Dotson signed a four-year contract with the Washington Commanders worth $15.1 million, according to the NFL salary slotting system.

Dotson, the 16th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, also has a fifth-year team option in his deal, customary for NFL first-rounders.

Dotson had 91 catches for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns in his final season at Penn State and was granted permission from head coach Ron Rivera to miss a day of the team’s minicamp to attend graduation.

Dotson gives the rebuilt Washington offense a potential No. 2 receiver next to Terry McLaurin.

McLaurin is not attending team workouts while angling for a long-term deal. He’s entering the final year of his rookie contract during an offseason in which wide receivers have raised the market value of the top players at the position significantly.

The Commanders are hoping to have all of the regulars assembled for a mandatory camp later this month, including new quarterback Carson Wentz.
