The Washington Commanders activated defensive end Efe Obada off injured reserve on Saturday.

Obada, who had been sidelined by a knee injury, was a full participant in practice all three days this week. His questionable designation was removed by the Commanders (2-3) and he is expected to make his season debut in Sunday’s game against the host Atlanta Falcons (3-2).

Obada, 31, recorded 24 tackles and four sacks in 17 games (one start) last season.

He has totaled 86 tackles, 15 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 69 career games (three starts) with the Carolina Panthers (2018-20), Buffalo Bills (2021) and Commanders.

Also on Saturday, Washington released defensive tackle Abdullah Anderson and elevated cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields from the practice squad to the active roster.
