The Indianapolis Colts waived third-string quarterback Jacob Eason on Tuesday.

The Colts selected Eason in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and signed him to a four-year, $4.03 million contract.

Also Tuesday, the Colts elevated kicker Michael Badgley from the practice squad and placed wide receiver Parris Campbell on injured reserve.

Eason, 23, appeared in one game this season, completing 2 of 5 passes for 25 yards and an interception in the Colts’ Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Eason played the last two series of the game after starter Carson Wentz left with an ankle injury.

However, Brett Hundley passed Eason on the depth chart at the end of September, relegating Eason to third string.

Rookie Sam Ehlinger takes over as Indy’s third-string quarterback after he was activated from IR on Tuesday.

Campbell injured his foot 10 offensive plays into the Colts’ victory over the Houston Texans last Sunday after catching a 51-yard scoring strike. He has 10 catches for 162 yards in five games (three starts) on the season. The Colts selected him in the second round of the 2019 draft but will likely move on from the Ohio State product after this season.

Badgley kicked for the Colts on Sunday against Houston, converting all four extra point attempts and connecting on his only field goal attempt. Rodrigo Blankenship (hip) was put on IR ahead of the Houston game.

The team also waived defensive tackle Chris Williams.
