The Indianapolis Colts have placed four-time Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly on injured reserve due to a knee injury.

The move means Kelly will be sidelined for at least four games.

Kelly was listed on the team’s Week 9 injury report with calf and knee issues but played the entire way in Sunday night’s 21-13 road loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Kelly has started all 121 regular season and postseason games of his nine-year career, all with the Colts.

Kelly, 31, earned Pro Bowl honors in 2019-21 and 2023 and was a second-team All-Pro choice in 2020.

Colts coach Shane Steichen said rookie Tanor Bortolini will start against the visiting Buffalo Bills (7-2) on Sunday in place of Kelly.

Bortolini will be making his third start for the Colts (4-5) in his seventh career game. He was a fourth-round pick out of Wisconsin.

Star linebacker Zaire Franklin (ankle) and standout receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (back, finger) missed practice on Wednesday. Offensive tackles Braden Smith (knee), Bernhard Raimann (concussion) and Matt Goncalves (shoulder, finger) and defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo (elbow) were full practice participants.
