The Arizona Cardinals promoted wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson, giving him the additional title of associate head coach among a series of changes announced Tuesday.

Cam Turner and Spencer Whipple were promoted to co-passing game coordinators. Matt Burke was named the defensive line coach and Mike Bercovici was named an offensive assistant.

Jefferson, 53, joined head coach Kliff Kingsbury’s staff in 2021 after working as an assistant coach with the New York Jets (2019-20), Miami Dolphins (2016-18), Tennessee Titans (2013-15) and Detroit Lions (2006-12).

Jefferson played wide receiver for 13 NFL seasons, catching 470 passes for 7,023 yards and 29 touchdowns in 195 games (130 starts) with the San Diego Chargers (1991-95), New England Patriots (1996-99), Atlanta Falcons (2000-02) and Lions (2003).

Whipple had been an assistant receivers coach. Turner remains the quarterbacks coach. Burke replaces Brentson Buckner, who left to coach the defensive line with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bercovici was previously a coaching assistant.
