The Arizona Cardinals activated veteran wide receiver A.J. Green from the reserve/COVID-19 list before practice on Thursday.

Tight end Demetrius Harris was lifted from the list Wednesday.

Green’s return is key for the Cardinals since it’s unclear whether fellow wideout DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) will be able to play on Sunday. The status of quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle) also is unclear. According to reports, neither was at practice Thursday.

A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, Green has 29 catches for 456 yards and three touchdowns in his first season in Arizona after nine with the Cincinnati Bengals. In 135 career games, he is closing in on 10,000 receiving yards — he has 9,886 — with 68 touchdowns.

Green, 33, missed last weekend’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Also Thursday, the Cardinals put long snapper Aaron Brewer (broken arm) and tight end David Wells (hand) on injured reserve.

The Cardinals (8-1) host the Carolina Panthers (4-5) on Sunday.
