Cleveland Browns starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. will miss Sunday’s road game against the Los Angeles Chargers because of an ankle injury.

Wills did not practice this week. It will be his first missed game of the season, despite sustaining the injury in the Browns’ Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Browns selected Wills with the No. 10 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he played in 15 games last season, starting all of them. He was on the field for 90 percent of the offensive snaps. This season, Wills started the first four games for the Browns (3-1).

In his place, the Browns are expected to start rookie James Hudson III. The fourth-round pick from Cincinnati will be tasked with keeping Chargers standout defensive end Joey Bosa away from quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is nursing his own left shoulder injury. Hudson has played just 8 percent of the Browns’ offensive snap.

Also Saturday, the Browns activated linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. from injured reserve. A free-agent signee in the offseason, Walker led the team with 10 tackles in the season opener but landed on IR on Sept. 17 with a hamstring injury.
