Brandon Aiyuk shed light on his increasingly dim contract negotiations with the San Francisco 49ers.
The wide receiver posted a TikTok video on Monday of a FaceTime call he had with rookie Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.
In the video, Aiyuk tells Daniels, “They said they don’t want me back.”
Daniels, Aiyuk’s teammate at Arizona State in 2019, responds, “That’s it?”
“I swear,” Aiyuk said.
Aiyuk is set to make $14 million in 2024 to complete his rookie deal. He is seeking a hefty extension, reportedly for at least $30 million annually.
Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings), A.J. Brown (Philadelphia Eagles) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions) have all earned contracts this offseason worth $30 million-plus per year.
Multiple media outlets reported earlier this month that Aiyuk’s negotiations with the 49ers were not progressing well.
As part of his holdout, Aiyuk didn’t participate in the 49ers’ offseason program and skipped the team’s mandatory minicamp. The latter absence could result in a fine of more than $100,000.
The 26-year-old is coming off a year in which he caught 75 passes for a career-high 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. In 62 NFL games (60 starts), he has 269 receptions for 3,931 yards and 25 TDs.
