The Bears agreed to terms with former Los Angeles Rams center Coleman Shelton on a one-year contract Thursday.

Shelton, 28, started 30 games in the past two seasons. The Bears did not disclose terms of the deal, which is pending the results of a physical.

He will provide competition for Ryan Bates at the position in Chicago. The Bears acquired Bates earlier this month in a trade with the Buffalo Bills.

The 6-foot-4, 299-pound Shelton signed with the Rams in 2019 and played in 73 games (32 starts). He won a ring in Super Bowl LVI.
