Chicago Bears star outside linebacker Khalil Mack will be placed on injured reserve and undergo season-ending foot surgery, coach Matt Nagy announced Friday.

Mack has missed the past two games due to the injury. Chicago also had a bye last week, essentially giving Mack three weeks to heal.

The 30-year-old Mack started the season strong with six sacks in seven games. The three-time All-Pro selection has racked up 36 sacks and 14 forced fumbles in 53 games for Chicago since joining the team in 2018.

Overall, Mack has 76.5 sacks, 23 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries, three interceptions and 467 tackles in 117 games with the then-Oakland Raiders (2014-17) and Bears.

Chicago also will be without defensive tackle Akiem Hicks (ankle) for Sunday’s home game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Receiver Allen Robinson II (hamstring) is listed as doubtful, while safety Eddie Jackson (hamstring) and offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson (back) are questionable.

Also, Chicago placed linebacker Danny Trevathan (knee) on injured reserve, promoted linebacker Cassius Marsh from the practice squad and signed linebacker Bruce Irvin to the practice squad.

Trevathan, 31, missed the first four games with a knee injury before playing in the next five. He had 19 tackles this season and 741 in 117 games with the Denver Broncos (2012-15) and Bears. He has eight career interceptions.

Marsh, 29, has 15 sacks in 93 career games while playing for seven different teams. The 34-year-old Irvin has 52 career sacks and 16 forced fumbles in 121 games with four teams.
