San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle is doubtful for Sunday’s game at the Los Angeles Rams due to a hamstring injury.

Kittle missed a second straight day of practice on Friday.

The five-time Pro Bowl selection caught 11 passes for 116 yards and one touchdown over the first two games. He has three 1,000-yard campaigns during his seven full seasons with the 49ers (1-1).

As expected, receiver Deebo Samuel (calf) will sit out after being injured in last week’s game with the Minnesota Vikings.

That makes it possible that three high-profile offensive players will be out of action against the Rams (0-2). Standout running back Christian McCaffrey (calf, Achilles) is on injured reserve.

Star defensive end Nick Bosa (rib) is questionable after being a limited practice participant on Thursday and Friday.

Safety Talanoa Hufanga will make his return from a major knee injury sustained last Nov. 19 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He tore the ACL in his right knee in that contest. Hufanga was a full practice participant this week.

Also, 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward (hamstring, knee) is questionable.

For the Rams, touted receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) is out as expected after being hurt last week against the Arizona Cardinals. Tight end Davis Allen (back) also is out.

Defensive tackle Bobby Brown III (ankle), cornerback Cobie Durant (toe) and kicker Joshua Karty (groin) are questionable.

Karty was a limited practice performer on Friday. The Rams signed Tanner Brown to the practice squad this week and coach Sean McVay said Friday that it’s possible that Brown will serve as the kicker against the 49ers.
