San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell has been ruled inactive for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Eagles in Philadelphia.

Mitchell (groin) was listed as questionable for the game after failing to participate in practice throughout the week.

Mitchell, 24, was limited to five regular-season games due to two knee injuries — one to each knee — and had 279 yards and two touchdowns. He had a touchdown catch in San Francisco’s 41-23 wild-card win over the Seattle Seahawks on Jan. 14 and 14 carries for 51 yards in a 19-12 victory over the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday.

While Mitchell is inactive, star running back Christian McCaffrey and hybrid wide receiver Deebo Samuel will suit up for Sunday’s game.

McCaffrey (calf) did not participate and Samuel (ankle) was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to their respective injuries before turning in a full session on Friday.

In addition to Mitchell, the 49ers listed the following players as inactive: quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, cornerback Ambry Thomas, offensive lineman Nick Zakelj, defensive end Drake Jackson, tight end Ross Dwelley and running back Tyrion Davis-Price.

The Eagles listed quarterback Ian Book, cornerback Josiah Scott, running back Trey Sermon, safety Anthony Harris, linebacker Kyron Johnson and offensive lineman Josh Sills as inactive.
