Defensive lineman Walter Nolen, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the 2022 class by 247Sports Composite, committed Saturday to attend Texas A&M next year.

Nolen, a 6-foot-4, 325-pound tackle from Powell, Tenn., chose the Aggies over Alabama, Tennessee, Michigan and Florida. He is the top defensive lineman of the 2022 recruiting class.

247Sports says Nolen “should become impact high-major defensive lineman with NFL Draft first-round potential.”

Nolen had taken multiple visits to Texas A&M and was there Saturday when he committed, according to ESPN, which reported that he originally planned to make a decision in December.

Nolen gives Texas A&M and coach Jimbo Fisher two five-star recruits (along with quarterback Conner Wegman out of Cypress, Texas), plus 11 four-stars. The Aggies have the third-ranked class in the Southeastern Conference.
