Tennessee running back Tiyon Evans announced Friday that he has entered the transfer portal.

He remains the Volunteers’ rushing leader with 525 yards and is tied for the team lead with six rushing touchdowns, despite seeing limited playing time since suffering an ankle injury in Tennessee’s Oct. 9 win over South Carolina.

Evans said he intends to weigh his options.

He leaves Tennessee having played just seven games with the Volunteers. This was his first season in Knoxville after joining the program as the top-ranked junior college transfer running back in 2021.

Tennessee (6-5, 3-4 SEC) closes out the regular season on Saturday against visiting Vanderbilt (2-9, 0-7).
