Quarterback recruit Blake Hebert, who committed to Clemson nearly a year and a half ago, changed course on Monday and announced he instead will attend Notre Dame in 2025.

The 247Sports Composite, a compilation of rankings from various entities, lists Hebert as a four-star prospect and the No. 29 quarterback in the Class of 2025. ESPN rates him the sixth-best dual-threat quarterback in his class.

Hebert wrote Monday on X, formerly known as Twitter, “I’d like to start by thanking the Clemson coaching staff as well as the program itself for all they have done for me. With that being said, I have chosen to withdraw my commitment and will spend my next 4 years at another institution.”

He subsequently tweeted, “HERE COME THE IRISH! #THINKBIG #committed”

Hebert, a 6-foot-3, 215-pounder, attends Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn.

His decision to join Notre Dame comes less than two weeks after another quarterback decommitted from the school. Deuce Knight of George County High School in Lucedale, Miss., decided to attend Auburn instead.

According to On3.com, Hebert has thrown for 900 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions this season on 50-of-92 passing (54.3 percent). He has added seven rushing touchdowns and 234 yards on 23 carries.

No. 12 Notre Dame owns a 5-1 record this season with senior Riley Leonard at quarterback.
