Texas Tech big man Daniel Batcho entered his name in the transfer portal Wednesday, The Athletic reported.

A Texas Tech official reportedly confirmed the report.

The 6-foot-11 Batcho played in 56 games (16 starts) for the Red Raiders over the past two seasons. He shot 61.2 percent from the field while averaging 4.5 points and 4.0 rebounds.

This past season, Batcho averaged 7.9 points and 5.9 rebounds and blocked 35 shots. He made 60.5 percent of his shots in 23 games (16 starts) and missed time due to finger and foot injuries.

The Frenchman began his college career at Arizona but missed the entire 2020-21 season after undergoing knee surgery. He transferred to Texas Tech following the campaign.

The Red Raiders are rebuilding under new coach Grant McCasland, who was hired away from North Texas after the resignation of Mark Adams, who was initially suspended for making an “inappropriate, unacceptable and racially insensitive” comment.
