Swider then scored five straight points and both Boeheim brothers made a jumper to extend the lead to 60-43. Swider’s two free throws punctuated the 18-3 push.

Noll’s 3-pointer capped a late 8-0 run that brought the visitors within 75-66 with just over two minutes remaining. However, Syracuse knocked down three foul shots and Buddy Boeheim made a jumper to make it 80-66 with :50 left.

Swider, a transfer from Villanova, shot 8 of 12 from the floor, as did Jimmy Boeheim. Buddy Boeheim was 9 of 16 from the field for the Orange, who begin the meaty part of Atlantic Coast Conference play on New Year’s Day against Virginia.
