Kadary Richmond collected 14 points and seven rebounds in 26 minutes as host Seton Hall never trailed and cruised to a 85-55 rout of visiting Farleigh Dickinson on Saturday at South Orange, N.J.

The Pirates (2-0) beat a second straight in-state opponent but turned in a more dominating performance after struggling in its season opening win against St. Peter’s on Monday.

Al-Amir Dawes added 13 points on 5-of-15 shooting and hit three of Seton Hall’s five 3-pointers as the Pirates improved to 21-4 all-time against Fairleigh Dickinson (2-1).

Jaden Bediako contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds for Seton Hall, Dre Davis chipped in 11 points and Seton Hall shot 47.1 percent as it easily won its 29th straight game at its on-campus facility.

Terrence Brown scored 10 points for the Knights (2-1), who were overmatched in their first loss under new coach Jack Castleberry.

After hitting a school record 19 3-pointerss in a rout of Division III Penn State-Brandywine on Wednesday, the Knights misfired on 26 of 31 attempts and shot a dreadful 28.3 percent from the field while also getting outrebounded 61-28 and committing 18 turnovers.

Ansley Almonor, who scored 24 against Penn State-Brandywine, was held to six points on 2-of-13 from the floor as the Knights were unable to open 3-0 for the first time since 2002-03.

The Pirates dominated from the outset, taking a 14-2 lead on a dunk by Jaden Bediako less than five minutes into the contest. The Pirates took a 32-17 lead on Richmond’s layup with 4:33 left before halftime.

Seton Hall took its first 20-point lead when Dawes hit two 3s and Davis converted a layup with 2:56 remaining in the first half and held a 47-23 advantage at the break.

Consecutive hoops by Richmond capped an 8-0 spurt that gave Seton Hall a 61-33 lead with 13:41 and send the starters to the bench for good.
