Tennessee guard B.J. Edwards has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports on Friday.

The 6-foot-3 Edwards averaged just 1.2 points and 4.1 minutes per game in 14 contests as a freshman in 2022-23.

With the Volunteers loaded in the backcourt for next season, it wasn’t appearing that Edwards would receive much playing time next season.

Standout guard Santiago Vescovi returned for a fifth season and Jahmai Mashack and Zakai Zeigler are also back. Zeigler is recovering from ACL surgery in his left knee. He was injured Feb. 28 in a game against Arkansas.
