Graduate transfer Ithiel Horton has committed to play for Texas next season, On3 reported Thursday.

A guard, Horton put up 12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game in 2022-23 in his lone season at UCF. He shot 34.8 percent from 3-point range and is a career 37.6 percent shooter from the arc.

Texas will be Horton’s fourth school. He played his freshman season at Delaware before transferring to Pitt, where he spent two campaigns. Horton was suspended due to an altercation with a police officer in November 2021, but he was reinstated after the charges against him were dismissed.

In 102 college games (83 starts), Horton has career averages of 11.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game.

Texas made the Elite Eight last season after Rodney Terry replaced the fired Chris Beard as head coach during the season. The Longhorns previously added accomplished transfer guard Max Abmas from Oral Roberts this offseason.
