COVID-19 issues forced No. 2 Duke to postpone its scheduled Wednesday Atlantic Coast Conference game at Clemson.

The Blue Devils-Tigers contest will be rescheduled. According to The Athletic on Monday, Duke’s game Saturday at Notre Dame also will be postponed, but school officials had not confirmed that report.

Duke’s situation marked just one of several more cancellations and postponements across college basketball Monday due to COVID-19.

St. John’s postponed its next two Big East games due to COVID-19 issues within the Red Storm program, a Wednesday contest against Marquette and a Saturday game at Georgetown. Under the conference’s new policy announced last week, the games will be rescheduled.

Elsewhere in the Big East, UConn will not travel to play No. 23 Xavier on Tuesday due to a number of positive COVID-19 tests in the Huskies’ program, including coach Dan Hurley. Xavier’s game at Georgetown, scheduled for Jan. 4, also was pushed back due to COVID issued with the Hoyas.

COVID-19 results forced Illinois to cancel its men’s basketball game Wednesday against visiting Florida A&M. The contest will not be rescheduled.

Northwestern and Prairie View A&M agreed to cancel Thursday’s nonconference tilt. Northwestern was dealing with COVID-19 within its program earlier this month.

Oklahoma State and No. 25 Texas Tech postponed their Jan. 1 game to Jan. 13 while the Cowboys work their way through COVID protocols. The game was supposed to be the league opener for both programs.

Oregon State and Sacramento State also postponed a game originally scheduled for Tuesday, though the pandemic was not the reason. Inclement weather on the West Coast led to the flight cancellations that prevented Sacramento State from getting to Corvallis, Ore. in time.

The Beavers and Hornets rescheduled their game for Jan. 3.
