Kris Murray scored a career-high 29 points, lifting Iowa to an 83-74 win over Indiana on Thursday in Iowa City, Iowa.

Keegan Murray, the Big Ten’s leading scorer at 24.7 points per game, added 12 points for the Hawkeyes (12-4, 2-3 Big Ten), while Jordan Bohannon scored 11 points.

After trailing by as many as 11 points in the first half and by seven at halftime, Iowa turned up its defensive intensity, scoring 34 points off 23 Indiana turnovers.

Trayce Jackson-Davis led Indiana (12-4, 3-3) with his seventh double-double of the season, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Race Thompson added 13 points, Parker Stewart scored 11 and Trey Galloway scored 10.

Indiana dropped to 0-4 on the road and has dropped eight straight games on the road dating back to the 2020-21 season.

Jackson-Davis scored 11 points in the first half, helping the Hoosiers jump to a 48-41 halftime lead. Indiana shot 58.1 percent in the half, getting the ball inside to Jackson-Davis and Thompson, who had 10 first-half points.

Indiana jumped to an early 23-16 lead; but, after an Iowa timeout, the Hawkeyes responded with a 10-0 run, regaining the lead 26-23 on Kris Murray’s 3-pointer.

With the score tied at 32, Indiana went on an 11-0 run. Jackson-Davis scored four points, including a putback layup that put Indiana up 43-32 with 2:25 remaining.

Iowa answered with a 9-3 run, cutting Indiana’s lead to 46-41 on a free throw from Connor McCaffery. But Indiana was able to break a press late in the first, and Trey Galloway scored a driving basket with 31 seconds left to put the Hoosiers up 48-41 at halftime.

Iowa regained the lead, 59-57, on a jumper by Tony Perkins and didn’t trail the rest of the way.
