NCAAB: Keisei Tominaga guides Nebraska to blowout of BC

Keisei Tominaga tied a career high with 23 points off the bench and Nebraska dominated just before and after halftime to beat Boston College 88-67 in an ACC/Big Ten Challenge game on Wednesday night in Lincoln, Neb.

The Cornhuskers (5-3) held the Eagles (5-3) without a field goal for more than 12 minutes of game action, going from down five late in the first half to up 17 midway through the second.

Tominaga was 7 of 8 from the field including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. He had 17 points in the first half, making all five of his shots and going 5 of 5 from the foul line.

Boston College led 33-28 with three minutes left in the first half but then missed its last four shots before the break and headed to the locker room down 37-34. The Eagles started 0-for-10 from the field in the second half, falling behind 53-36.

A dunk by Devin McGlockton, who had Boston College’s last basket in the first half, ended the field-goal drought with 11:07 remaining. McGlockton finished with 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench for the Eagles.

The Cornhuskers shot 67.9 percent in the second half and 61.5 percent for the game. They had six players score in double figures, including CJ Wilcher, who was scoreless in the first half but wound up with 14.

Boston College missed six of its first nine shots but then hit five in a row to lead 22-20.

Tominaga was fouled on a 3-point attempt and made each free throw then drained a trey to put Nebraska up 26-22 with 7:06 left in the first half.

Seven points in a row by CJ Penha, who had 13 on the night, put the Eagles ahead 29-26, but Tominaga hit a fifth basket to give the Cornhuskers a 35-34 edge with 1:09 to go before the half.
