NCAAB: Howard edges Morgan State in inaugural NBA HBCU Classic

Kyle Foster broke a tie by sinking two free throws with 31.2 seconds remaining to help Howard notch a 68-66 victory over Morgan State on Saturday afternoon in the inaugural NBA HBCU Classic in Cleveland.

The contest between the two Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference schools was part of the NBA All-Star festivities. The NBA formed the contest as part of its commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the game was telecast on TNT, ESPN2 and NBA TV.

Foster scored 18 points for Howard (14-10, 7-3 MEAC), which won its sixth straight game. Randall Brumant and Elijah Hawkins added 17 points apiece for the Bison, who overcame a 12-point second-half deficit.

De’Torrion Ware scored 19 points for Morgan State (8-13, 3-6). The Bears have lost six of their past eight games.
