Buddy Boeheim poured in a season-high 30 points as Syracuse shook off recent offensive doldrums by using a huge second half to knock off visiting Wake Forest 94-72 on Saturday night.

Cole Swider racked up 18 points, Joe Girard III added 13 points and Jesse Edwards had 12 points. Sophomore reserve Frank Anselem scored all of his career-high seven points in the first half for Syracuse (10-11, 4-6 ACC), which snapped a two-game skid.

Daivien Williamson delivered 27 points and Damari Monsanto had 12 points for Wake Forest (17-5, 7-4), which showed up with a four-game winning streak for its best ACC stretch in a dozen years.

ACC scoring leader Alondes Williams of Wake Forest was held to eight points, shooting 3-for-10 from the field. He entered the game averaging 20.4 points per game.

Syracuse shot 10-for-19 on 3-pointers, with Boeheim connecting on six of his 11 long-range attempts. He ended up one point shy of his career-high mark.

It helped result in a big offensive display for the Orange, who hadn’t reached the 60-point mark in its two previous games — losses at Duke (scored 59) and at Pittsburgh (scored 53). Syracuse scored 55 in the second half Saturday night.

Wake Forest made 11 of its 27 launches from 3.

Syracuse surged into the lead in the first four minutes of the second half when Boeheim pumped in eight points across a 67-second stretch.

Wake Forest used an 11-0 run to churn out a 16-9 lead. Syracuse responded to go ahead before the Demon Deacons held a 42-39 halftime edge.

By then, Williamson had 17 points. He didn’t play in the first clash with the Orange this season. Monsanto, who didn’t play his season debut until a couple of weeks ago, had nine points by the break in his first action against Syracuse. So those two combined for 26 first-half points.

Wake Forest won a previous meeting with Syracuse earlier this month, 77-74 in overtime.
