Alabama standout and All-SEC point guard Mark Sears declared for the NBA draft on Wednesday but will not hire an agent to keep his options open.

Sears made the announcement on social media. He has one year of eligibility remaining and must withdraw from the draft by May 29 to maintain that eligibility. The draft begins June 26.

Sears was a consensus second-team All-American this season after averaging 21.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game and leading Alabama to the Final Four. He averaged 24.2 points in the tournament.

Sears was named Most Outstanding Player of the West Regional and made the All-Tournament first team.

Sears is averaging 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 133 career games (114 starts) with Ohio (2020-22) and Alabama.
