Five-star guard Marvel Allen is decommitting from LSU, citing the firing of coach Will Wade.
Allen, a member of the Class of 2023, committed to the Tigers in January.
“I committed to LSU because of my relationship with Coach Wade and (assistant coach Kevin) Nickelberry. Thank you to the rest of the LSU coaching staff and the fans for the support they showed me throughout my time I was committed,” he posted to social media.
“Wasn’t expecting to come to this point but I will (be) decommitting from LSU and reopening my recruitment to all programs.
“I’m looking forward to finding my new home.”

LSU fired Wade last Saturday amid NCAA allegations of major recruiting violations.
The 6-foot-4 Allen, from West Palm Beach, Fla., is ranked by the 247Sports composite as the nation’s No. 4 point guard and the No. 18 overall prospect.
Before his commitment to LSU, he also listed Alabama, Arizona State, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, Memphis and Ohio State as his schools of interest.
